Easy Blackberry Cobbler

I’m a huge fan of cobblers, crisps, and pies.; my favorite remains fresh peach pie.  But blackberries were on sale and so I had two grocery store containers of them.

I started looking for cobbler recipes and had to eliminate a few.  One called for cooking the berries in an cast iron skillet on the stove top, then transferring to the oven.  Another called for ingredients I didn’t have. 

Then I discovered the easy to make recipe (below) for blackberry cobbler.  Perfect!

Colonial Williamsburg Gingerbread Cookies

It was the summer of 1956; I was a young girl. My family and I were touring Colonial Williamsburg for the first time. I immediately fell in love with the old Virginia town, a place I have returned to many times. I adored the guides’ colonial costumes and hats. I wanted to take a carriage ride and sleep under a canopy bed. I wanted to live there!

Reviving the Impossible Quiche

 In my memories, brunch means quiche. I invited a friend over for brunch and thought, I’ll pull out that quick quiche recipe I made many years ago. I recalled one using Bisquick, and a pie that almost magically formed the crust. 

In fact, there are numerous versions of this impossible pie recipe,  I also recall a rendition that made cheeseburger pie, a quick and inexpensive dinner. 

Now, I hadn’t bought a box of Bisquick in likely 15 years, but why not revive an old favorite.
