November 4, 2022, marks the one-hundredth anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, the largest and most significant archeological find of the 20th century, perhaps of all time. The story of its unearthing reads like fiction, not fact, including a “mummy’s curse.”
I never guessed I’d visit Roman ruins during my trip to Morocco. Naturally, I’ve seen the Forum and Colosseum in Rome and other archeological sites in Italy, Croatia, Jordan, Greece, and England’s farthest east- Hadrian’s Wall. But Morocco?
My small group was headed there, however, we arrived in a rainstorm. Fortunately, it slowed to a light drizzle during a tour that took us back in time to a picturesque place.
In February 2018, I gave a speech for the Sawgrass Women’s Club and an interview for Big Blend Radio in March, 2018, concerning travel tips for Boomer women. Many of these ideas came from lessons learned while traveling in Europe for six months in 2016.
