Every year I go to Nawlin’s for Mardi Gras and every year I eat a po’boy or two…or three.  This year girlfriend Chris and I found ourselves outside Johnny’s Po-Boys.  You know when a line extends out the door and into the street, the food inside must be good.

A Restaurant Review

Behind the shuttered blue building on Petronia Street in the heart of old Key West, lies Blue Heaven Restaurant.  Street appeal doesn’t earn an A plus, but the food sure does.

According to their website, “On September 19, 1992 Suanne the artist and Richard the writer cooked and served black beans, rice, and fish to their first lunch customers on the painted picnic tables under the tropical almond tree in the outdoor dining area.

It Happened at the Hofbrahaus

Thought I’d tell this story during October since the month makes me think of Germany and Oktoberfest.

Near the end of our trip to Europe last summer, my 18-year-old daughter and I arrived in Munich. By the time we reached our hotel, it was late and we were hungry. We decided to dine at the Hofbrauhaus, Munich’s world famous beer hall. Laura and I had been there a few years earlier and enjoyed the high-charged atmosphere and traditional beer garden.
